At Fraunhofer CCPE, product development is guided by the the principles of circular economy and sustainability. Through innovative technology-, design-, and material-oriented approaches, Fraunhofer CCPE supports companies in creating sustainable products. From the design phase, through implementation of circular materials in innovative components and parts using new manufacturing processes, to digital engineering: Throughout the entire product development process, there are levers to make products innovative, circular, and resource-efficient. For example, Fraunhofer CCPE works on mono-material approaches, revolutionizes conventional lightweight construction, questions existing product architectures, and provides data on consumer acceptance and performance expectations in B2C and B2B sectors. A key element is creating prototypes to test effectiveness and performance in the laboratory or even under real conditions as quickly as possible.
