Pilot facilities play a central role in application-oriented research, including in the circular economy field. They enable development, testing and scaling of innovative technologies and processes. Pilot plants help transfer technologies from laboratory scale to industrial applications. This reduces risks in market introduction and accelerates transition from research results to practical application.
